Dick Durbin: Admits He's Always For Tax Increases

Senator Dick Durbin is up for re-election this year and he has an answer for the two Republicans who are running for the privilege to challenge him.

Republicans Jim Oberweis and Doug Truax say Durbin and Obama have ruined the economy with taxing and spending programs like Obamacare.

Durbin told his side of the story for this week’s “Connected to Chicago,” Sunday afternoon at two.

When informed they are saying he hasn’t met a tax increase he didn’t like Durbin said, “I will tell you when it comes to asking people who are doing well to pay their fair share, they’re right. I think those who are blessed with success in America ought to pay back to this great nation so that another generation gets that same opportunity. When it comes to working and middle-income Americans, I feel just the opposite. I think they’re the ones getting hit hard by taxes. I think they’re the ones that need a break.”

No word yet on whether Dick Durbin plans to not allow the rich to be able to write off their state income taxes.
