Ohio Republicans target Common Core : Bill backed by GOP lawmakers would stop state from adopting educational standards

Say what you will about the new Common Core academic initiative: Love it or hate it, everybody in education is talking about it.

Now Common Core has entered the political arena, and the nascent standards could be done in before they take root, if a group of Republicans in Ohio’s House gets its way. House Bill 237 would prohibit the state board of education from adopting or implementing the standards in Ohio. A hearing on the bill drew hundreds to Columbus last week.

A move to fight the education conspiracy.
