President Obama makes history. With the announcement of Gloria Steinem to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, democratic socialism's leadership basks in glory. This is the second Presidential Medal of Freedom to be awarded to a leader of the Democratic Socialists of America, the largest socialist organization in America by Barack Obama. In 2011, socialist leader Dolores Huerta won the award. The goal of the Democratic Socialists of America is clear:
We are socialists because we reject an international economic order sustained by private profitMost American politicians would be a little shy about openly associating with known socialists: but not Barack Obama. As you can imagine, the New York Times is shy about identifying comrades Steinem and Huerta as socialists because it would confuse their readers about modern day liberalism.
