Cook County Circuit Judge Wayne W. Olson, the first judge in U.S. history known to have his chambers bugged by federal agents, pleaded guilty Thursday to charges of taking $9,120 in bribes to steer cases to a lawyer. James J. Costello, the lawyer who passed the money to Olson, also pleaded guilty, but federal prosecutors said both pleas are conditional and will be vacated if the two men win appeals challenging the legality of the electronic eavesdropping by FBI agents.Great moments of one party rule in Crook County.
