Red Bull Ban in Chicago: Is Powerful Chicago Alderman Trying to Extort a Campaign Contribution Out of Energy Drink Maker?

The Chicago Tribune reports on the man running Chicago:
Ald. Edward Burke, 14th, is proposing banning large containers of "highly caffeinated" energy drinks like Red Bull in Chicago. Burke, chairman of the City Council's Finance Committee, is known for floating proposals to ban everything from plastic bags in grocery stores to trans fats in restaurant fryers. He also pushed a plan to ban the sale of cigarettes except those that extinguish themselves when left unattended.
