(Video) Flashback 1998: Obama Sarcastically Says Poor Blacks 'Undeserving' ; Poor Whites 'Deserving'

We repost this Wednesday blog entry. Flashback to the Brookings Institute forum on the "State of the Cities," June 14, 1998. Barack Obama talks about how he's not a big supporter of Bill Clinton's Welfare Reform Act. But, to Obama it presents a political opportunity to organize poor people. At the 28 second marker begins this amazing quote " desegregate the welfare population meaning the undeserving poor black folks in cities from the working poor deserving white rural as well as suburban. " This racist quote can't be denied, note the hint of sarcasm. No white politician could get away with this.
