Judge promises quick decision in latest challenge to Detroit consent agreement

The Detroit Free Press reports:
A Wayne County Circuit Court Judge today ordered lawyers for three Detroit residents, the law department, Mayor Dave Bing and the Michigan attorney general to make their arguments about the city’s funding in writing and be back in court in two weeks.

Judge Amy P. Hathaway set the next hearing for July 26 after three citizens filed suit last week saying the agreement city leaders struck with the state to return Detroit to fiscal stability is illegal.
