Chicago Teachers union: More than 75 percent voted to authorize strike

The Chicago Tribune reports:
The Chicago Teachers Union will announce today that more than the required number of members have voted to authorize a teachers strike.

Jesse Sharkey, vice president of the union, said on Sunday that the weekend ballot count showed more than the required 75 percent of the vote was in favor of authorizing a strike. The union will announce details on Monday, Sharkey said.
