Chicago Public Transit thefts, robberies on rise since 2009

The Chicago Tribune reports:
Criminals snatching electronic devices from commuters' purses, pockets and even their hands fueled a dramatic surge in reported thefts and robberies aboard CTA buses and trains, according to a Tribune analysis of crime data from 2009 through 2011.
Too bad you can't own a handgun to defend yourself on a train or bus in Chicago.
