A proposal by the British government to levy a value added tax on major repairs to listed historic buildings has put the Church of England up in arms.Maybe, the Church of England should have spoken out against big government decades ago.
Almost half, 45 percent, of the country's listed buildings are churches. They include historic cathedrals, masterworks by architects like Christopher Wren and tiny country churches dating back to Medieval or Saxon times.
