Albertans wait longer for surgery than other Canadians

Calgary Herald reports:
Albertans are waiting twice as long for surgery as they did less than two decades ago and facing greater treatment delays than most patients in the country, despite living in a province where the government spends more than most on health care.

The Fraser Institute’s annual study on wait times, made public Monday, found patients in Alberta face a median of 21.1 weeks in the queue for the operating room after their family doctor refers them to a specialist.

That total wait is two weeks longer than the Canadian median and just over twice the 10.5-week wait patients in the province faced in 1993, the year the conservative think-tank started publishing its report.

Just a reminder, socialism means waiting in line!
