NYPD out in force amid 9/11 anniversary terror threat report

The New York Post reports:
New York City was on lockdown mode today as cops flooded the streets in a huge show of force amid heightened fears of a 9/11 anniversary terror attack.

The anti-terror tactics — including car stops and searches, bags checks at subway stations and machine-gun toting officers in front of sensitive buildings — came after a “credible” threat that three al Qaeda car bombers are bound for the Big Apple.

“The traffic is insane!” fumed Steve Troz, who was driving a delivery truck that got caught in a huge snarl on Central Park South caused because of police vehicle checkpoints.
