Vice President Joe Biden woos teachers union: Vice president slams GOP hostility to union contracts of public workers

The Chicago Tribune reports:
Raising the specter of labor fights picked by Republican governors with public workers unions across the country, Vice President Joe Biden lambasted what he called an increasingly union-hostile "new" Republican Party in remarks delivered to National Education Association representatives on Sunday in Chicago.

"There is an organized effort to place blame for budget shortfalls on educators and other public workers. It is one of the biggest scams in modern American history," Biden said in a speech laden with political red meat and intended to smooth over past disagreements between teachers unions and the Obama administration.

"The new Republican Party has undertaken the most direct assault on labor, not just in my lifetime … but literally since the 1920s," he said in the address at McCormick Place. "This is not your father's Republican Party. This is a different breed of cat."
How ironic for Joe Biden to talk about scams in Chicago's McCormick Place. No only has McCormick Place been the playground for the Chicago Mob and its' union scams: the Mob is still making news at the convention center. After all, who could forget that this Alderman used to represent McCormick Place and loaded up the building with mobsters. Joe Biden probably thinks Illinois' 14048 public school teachers ( that make over $100,000 in salary a year), of which 710 are P.E. teachers, aren't busting any school budgets. You can't say Joe Biden isn't a man looking for a campaign contribution.
