Mayor Rahm Emanuel Attacks the Daley Era

The Chicago Sun-Times reports on Mayor Rahm Emanuel attack on the Daley legacy:
Though he never mentioned Daley by name, Emanuel pointed a finger of blame at his predecessor for a decade of deficit spending.

“If you run a deficit in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 . . . “ Emanuel said. “You get it. All the way to 2011….Every year, the city ran a deficit — good times or bad….That says to you explicitly, `We have a structural problem and that moment of truth has arrived. We will address it. And if we do it this year, you’ll be on a more sustainable path.”
Just in case you thought Rahm wasn't a loyal big spending Democrat who disrespects the Daley era, here's the Huffington Post:
Former Chicago mayor Richard M. Daley made a rare public appearance on Thursday, showing up at a West Humboldt Park library which was named in his honor.

The Richard M. Daley branch is located on Kedzie and Chicago, and it was there that dozens of supporters -- and reporters -- gathered to greet the city's longest-serving mayor.

Current mayor Rahm Emanuel was on hand, and he introduced his predecessor to the crowd, calling the introduction "the greatest of honors that I have ever had" and referring to Daley as "our mayor," according to the Chicago Tribune.
Chicago lost 200,000 people in the last decade. But, they are building bricks and mortar libraries!
