For teachers unions, Ravitch an unlikely ally

Politico reports:
Once a proponent of a decidedly conservative agenda on education reform, Diane Ravitch has emerged as an unlikely hero to public school teachers and administrators across the country by siding with teachers in their battle with charter school advocates and the Obama administration.

A well-known academic who served as an education official in President George H.W. Bush’s administration and was a vocal advocate of President George W. Bush’s “No Child Left Behind” initiative, Ravitch has made a complete 180 degree turn in her beliefs about what will fix the nation’s schools.
Actually Ravitch is the perfect ally of federal government centralization of education. She's always been.
