California Kindergarten to Get Gay and Lesbian History in New Mandated Law

The San Francisco Chronicle reports on California's new public school law mandating children learn the contributions of gays and lesbians:

"If children in other countries are learning math and science, and American children are learning about the private lives of historical figures, how will our students compete for jobs in the global economy?" said Sen. Sharon Runner, R-Lancaster (Los Angeles County), the vice chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Education.

You can see why "public education" is great for special interest groups even if they don't have children in the system: once you buy the politicians can you pass on your values through coercion.
