Tim Pawlenty on Monday officially announced his candidacy for president, insisting he would “tell the truth” about the serious problems facing the country in a way he said President Obama has not.
Pawlenty, the former Minnesota governor, traveled to the first caucus state of Iowa to make his announcement at a town-hall event with his wife, Mary.
