New York led the nation in job creation last month -- accounting for nearly one in every five jobs US employers created in April, government statistics released yesterday show.
Empire State businesses created 45,700 jobs in April, well ahead of No. 2 Texas, with 32,900 jobs. In third place was Pennsylvania with 23,700 new hires. The biggest loser was Michigan, with 10,200 jobs vanishing in April.
