The Unpaid Internship Boom

The New York Times has an op-ed on the unpaid interns:
the internship boom gives the well-to-do a foot in the door while consigning the less well-off to dead-end temporary jobs.
The highly regulated labor market advantages the well-to-do. Higher minimum wages over the last couple of years have certainly helped the "unpaid intern" market.
