Teachers unions: Pay cuts are too steep Lawmaker: Public sector sacrifices are not enough

Asbury Park Press reports:
Teachers unions, complaining they're already saddled with historic lows in salary settlements, say they're bracing for reductions in compensation because of proposals to reform health care plans and the pension system.

About 135 school districts since March 2010 reported their teachers' bargaining unit agreed to a concession, wage freeze, or an annual pay increase of 3 percent or less.
We are sure, in today's economy, someone can do their job cheaper.
