Rahm Emanuel willing to work with Burke as ‘partner in reform’

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:

Mayor-elect Rahm Emanuel said Friday he’s “looking for a partner in reform,” and he is “heartened” if Ald. Edward M. Burke (14th) is prepared to forge that alliance.

Emanuel’s comments do not necessarily mean that Burke will remain as Finance Committee chairman when the new City Council reorganizes itself after the May 16 inauguration.

“I’m looking for a partner in reform. If he’s ready to do that, I’m heartened because we must reform. This is the era of reform,” Emanuel said.
