Texas will add four seats in the House of Representatives as the Census Department revealed Tuesday that the U.S. population grew at the slowest pace since the Great Depression.
The population as of April 2010 was 308.7 million, up 9.7% over the last decade. U.S. Census Bureau Director Robert Groves said the slow population growth was likely a combination of the slowing fertility rates across the developed world as well as the impact of the recession.
