Teachers Unions Stop Expansion of Charter Schools in Chicago

The Chicago Tribune reports:
After hearing from a roomful of critics Wednesday, Chicago Public Schools decided to withdraw proposals for four new charter schools and plans to expand existing ones, including three new campuses each operated by Chicago Charter International School and the United Neighborhood Organization.
The Chicago Tribune, today, has an editorial with this amazing fact concerning Chicago Public school teachers:
As recently as 2004, a Thomas B. Fordham Institute study found that 39 percent of CPS teachers sent their own kids to private schools.
