Mass. agency hires consultant to mull raises

The Boston Herald reports:
The state’s top development authority — already packed with two dozen staffers taking home six-figure salaries, including its $300,000 a year chief — is looking to hire an outside consultant to recommend whether they should score even fatter paychecks. MassDevelopment — which provides financing and real estate services to state developers — plans to pay the consultant $13,000 to $19,000 for a “comprehensive compensation market study’’ to determine if its pay is “appropriate.”
