Barack Obama, Jerry Brown and green jobs

The San Francisco Chronicle reports:
Tuesday California voters rejected Proposition 23, which would have delayed the implementation of the state's landmark global warming law. Apparently voters agreed with Gov.-elect Jerry Brown in seeing "green jobs" as the jobs of the future.

The next day, Solyndra, Inc. announced it was closing an East Bay factory. Be it noted, President Obama visited Solyndra in May. Quoth the president, "The true engine of economic growth will always be companies like Solyndra."
Green jobs, jobs of the past

As I wrote at the time, "If Obama wants to make Americans feel good about the economy, couldn't he have found a business that doesn't rely on taxpayer money?"

Instead Obama picked a company that has yet to make a profit. A critical PricewaterhouseCoopers audit had questioned Solyndra's "ability to continue as a going concern." And by the way, the factory was built thanks to a $535 million federal loan.

Are green jobs the best rent seeking scam going??
