The Worst Vendor: The U.S. Government

Forbes explains why government doesn't work:
One might argue that the public holds accountability over individual Congressmen through the power of the ballot box, but this is an illusion given that only 4% of incumbents fail to get reelected to the US House of Representatives in any particular election while new businesses fail about 75% of the time. The public’s ability to hold monopoly organizations like the post office or the DMV or the state liquor stores run by career bureaucrats accountable is even more limited.
