San Francisco May Pass Alcohol Fee to Pay For Uninsured Alcoholics' Treatments

The San Francisco Chronicle reports:
Fresh from its summer recess, the Board of Supervisors is scheduled to vote Tuesday on a closely watched proposal to impose an alcohol fee to help cover costs the city incurs caring for uninsured inebriants.

The booze and hospitality industries have come out strong against the proposal, saying it would hurt business and kill jobs in a city where the fermented grape, microbrews and cocktails are celebrated.

Unlimited government by "progressive" San Francisco.
