Big dippers: NYC union chiefs pull 2 salaries

The New York Post reports:
The cash-strapped city is forking out millions in salaries to labor leaders who do union work on the taxpayer dime.

So far this year, the city has shelled out more than $15 million to pay for 236 part-time and full-time union representatives.

The freebies are courtesy of an old labor deal that "releases" union leaders from their city jobs -- but still keeps them on the payroll.

The multimillion-dollar price tag doesn't include the cost of the union reps' lucrative civil-service pension and other benefits.

An additional 96 city workers who don't collect a salary from the city and are paid only by the union they represent can still accrue time on the job to add to their city pensions.

What a scam. Yet, Obama wants federal taxpayers to "help" the cities so they don't have layoffs!
