Gouge City: Chicago Number 1 in Taxing Visitors

The Chicago Tribune has an unpleasant editorial on Chicago:
How should Chicagoland celebrate this embarrassing distinction? Only one U.S. metropolis ranked first in taxing its visitors in 2009 and, to protect its stature in 2010, is imposing still more fees on those hapless visitors. Should we commemorate this city's, this county's and this state's costly devotion to big public payrolls (and big public pensions) with:

• An eternal flame that burns only cash fleeced from conventioneers?
