The Detroit Free Press reports:
Filling out a job application can be frustrating when released felons reach the question: "Have you ever been convicted of a felony?"
Following several states, and cities large and small, Detroit City Council members Ken Cockrel Jr. and Kwame Kenyatta are cosponsoring an ordinance, expected to be introduced by July, which would remove the question from applications for jobs with the city.
This is isn't the beginning of some new trend:
The question is banned on applications in Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Minneapolis, San Francisco and Seattle, among others; and in New York, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Hawaii, Minnesota and New Mexico.
A Blue America thing?
