Blagojevich tied tollway funds to donation from road builders

The Chicago Tribune reports:
Alonzo "Lon" Monk has ended his testimony for the week by talking about one of the alleged shakedowns in the case: an attempt to get a contribution from the head of a road builders organization.

Monk said Blagojevich tied a plan to announce $5 billion in tollway funds to obtaining a campaign donation from the organization head, Jerry Krozel.

Monk said in the fall of 2008, the then-governor hoped the tollway plan would "incentivize" Krozel to make a large contribution before a new ethics law banning such donations went into effect at the end of that year, Monk said.
Imagine that. Here's a list of Blagojevich trial exhibits today.
