Blago Defense tries to connect kickback, donation to Obama

The Chicago Tribune reports:
A lawyer for Rod Blagojevich is attempting to link money from a kickback in an inside investment deal at a state board to President Barack Obama.

When the trial resumed after lunch, Blagojevich lawyer Michael Gillespie asked Joseph Aramanda, a business associate of insider Antoin "Tony" Rezko, if he had written a $10,000 check to the Obama campaign in 2004 when Obama was running for the U.S. Senate. Aramanda said he did "at Mr. Rezko's request."
