Labor boss a 'steal' worker

The New York Post reports:
The head of the city's powerful union of engineers and architects is a petty thief.

Civil Service Technical Guild President Behrouz Fathi, 53, who oversees construction contracts for New York City Transit, has at least seven prior arrests for petty thefts under four different names.

The sticky-fingered union boss was hired by the city subway system in 1982, and dodged scrutiny for more than two decades.

His shoplifting record came to light last summer, when he was fingerprinted after getting caught pilfering a $345 power saw, gloves, a chisel and a dust mask from Home Depot in Huntington Station, Suffolk County cops said.

Was the shoplifting excellent training for leading the union movement? I think you know the answer.
