Illinois Has 475,000 Less Jobs than 10 Years Ago: Illinois never fully recovered from the post-Sept. 11 recession

Crain's Chicago Business reports on the Illinois bad economic performance:
as of February, employment in the state was 475,000 below its prior peak in November 2000.
There's more:
Illinois' 11.4% unemployment rate far exceeds the 9.7% national figure.

"We are one of the slowest job-growth states in the nation," generally ranking in the lowest 10%, says J. Thomas Johnson, president of the Taxpayers Federation of Illinois. "We need a job-friendly, job-creation environment. We need to send the right messages. Right now, we're not."
Yet, Illinois keeps voting for the same failed leadership every election cycle.
