Illinois disability applicants have long wait for benefits

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
If you're applying for Social Security disability benefits in Illinois, you might have to wait more than a year for a hearing before a federal judge to determine if you qualify.

Illinois has one of the worst backlogs in the country for processing applications for Social Security disability insurance, according to a report by Allsup Inc., a company that helps people file for disability benefits.
Great moments in Blue America.
