The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
Federal prosecutors in the case of Rod Blagojevich may have 500 hours of secret recordings in the case against the former governor, but a newly released 91-page document shows they plan to rely just as heavily on the personal testimony of Blagojevich’s inner circle.
The document — which outlines the prosecution’s case in the greatest detail yet — indicates prosecutors have put together their case using statements from onetime businessman Tony Rezko, who has been in prison since his 2008 conviction; lobbyist and longtime friend Lon Monk; former chief of staff John Harris, a former deputy governor; aides; advisers and a union rep who allegedly discussed a controversial U.S. Senate seat pick with the former governor in late 2008.
The document details dealings between former Illinois First Lady Patti Blagojevich and Rezko, claiming Rezko kicked bogus brokerage fees to her.
There's more:
An emissary of Jesse Jackson Jr. allegedly approached Blagojevich with what the former governor believed to be a $1.5 million offer for the seat, charges have said.
