Chicago Aldermen spend expense accounts on cars, relatives, consultants

The Chicago Tribune reports:
While Chicago government and many of its residents struggled with a tough economy, Chicago aldermen continued to pay relatives, public relations consultants and expensive car leases with their city expense accounts, according to a Tribune examination of 2009 records.
What about the man running things? Alderman Burke? The Tribune explains:
Ald. Ed Burke, 14th, the powerful chairman of the Finance Committee, spent more than $7,200 on vehicle lease payments last year, even though he has at his disposal an unmarked police car as part of a city-funded security detail.
Great moments in the Democratic party.
