Census gear is outsourced

UPI reports:
A Chicago alderman says he has received a load of gear promoting the 2010 Census that was manufactured in China, Bangladesh and Haiti.

Alderman Ed Burke said it appears the United States government has outsourced promoting the census to foreign countries, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Tuesday.

"They've apparently determined there is massive non-compliance in Chicago (56 percent) and decided to start community-based outreach programs," Burke said.
