The New Yorker has a puff piece on Mayor Daley. We've haven't read the piece yet but have gotten reviews from some who have. We are comfortable in assuming that the New Yorker didn't do a series investigation on why the Chicago Mob has had such a presence in Chicago's union movement or why Mayor Daley associates with Chicago Mob associates. But, more disturbing is why does Mayor Daley feel a " high ranking made member" of the Chicago Mob was "a committed public servant..."
