Chicago Parking ticket case heads to federal court

The Chicago Tribune reports:
It took Mark Geinosky eight administrative hearings to get all 24 of his unwarranted parking tickets thrown out, but the Orland Park man still doesn't know why Chicago police officers targeted him.

So he's taking his case to a higher court.

Late Wednesday afternoon, Geinosky filed a federal lawsuit against the city of Chicago and two police officers, claiming they abused their power by repeatedly issuing false parking tickets.

Geinosky's lawyers say the lawsuit is an attempt to get answers.

"This is really the only way to hold the Chicago Police Department accountable," said attorney Lawrence Jackowiak. "They don't police themselves."
No word from former Chicago Police Chief of Detectives William Hanhardt on this one.
