Chicago Mob Linked Town Gives Trustees Power to Write Parking Tickets

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:

Cicero trustees are taking the law into their own hands -- parking law, at least.

Earlier this week, they passed an ordinance giving themselves the power to write tickets.


"The intent is to make our town a safer place for our families," said Fran Reitz, a trustee and the town collector. "This basically gives us more eyes on the street."

She denied it was an effort to grab more revenue.
