Key Obama campaign backers who were appointed ambassadors

Sheila Krumholz, executive director of the Center for Responsive Politics, a nonprofit that tracks money in U.S. politics, calls the American political tradition of giving diplomatic posts to big contributors “a donor rewards program.”
