Chicago Public Transit riders file suit against state for alleged discrimination

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
Claiming that the state’s mass transit funding scheme discriminates against minorities, CTA riders filed a federal class action suit today against the state, the RTA and Metra.

“It’s about peoples’ livelihoods,” said Manuel Munguia, 32, one of the named plaintiffs in the suit. “It’s really about getting the access we deserve, to education, to good jobs, and ultimately, to opportunity and prosperity.”
