Philip Morris Drops Suit Over San Francisco Sales Ban

Bloomberg reports:

Philip Morris USA, the Altria Group Inc. unit that makes Marlboro cigarettes, dropped its suit to strike down a San Francisco law banning the sale of tobacco products in some pharmacies, City Attorney Dennis Herrera said.

Philip Morris sued the city a year ago claiming the sales ban imposes unlawful restrictions on the company’s ability to advertise and promote its products in San Francisco.
