4 ex-SOS Chicago cops get 6 months apiece in shakedown scheme

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
They meticulously combed homes for large sums of cash without proper consent.

Some of them stopped a man for merely being "Hispanic and driving an expensive vehicle," while a diabetic was told he wouldn't get his insulin shots until he fessed up to where he stored his money.

Four former Chicago Police officers were sentenced to six months in jail Friday after admitting that they brazenly shook down reputed drug dealers and others through threats and illegal tactics -- often under the command of their beleaguered fellow cop Jerome Finnigan.

Bart Maka, 30; Guadalupe Salinas, 41; Brian Pratscher, 35, and Donovan Markiewicz, 38, agreed to cooperate with the continuing state and federal investigations of their former colleagues in the Police Department's now-disbanded Special Operations Section in exchange for their guilty pleas.
Gun control works in Chicago for corrupt cops!
