Path clear for Vallejo , fire union to negotiate new deal

Times Herald reports:

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Michael McManus Thursday approved the agreement the city reached with the fire union, rejecting a collective bargaining agreement that would have run through June 2010, the city announced.

The ruling allows the city to set aside the existing fire union contract and begin negotiating terms of a new accord.
