Federal Grand jury investigating Chicago Public Schools

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
A federal grand jury is investigating whether any “public officials’’ lobbied to get kids into the city’s most elite public high schools through new powers that allow principals to handpick five percent of their freshmen seats, a subpoena released Thursday suggests.

The subpoena calls for “all correspondence reflecting communication with parents and public officials related to any application for principal selection slots for any selective enrollment high school.’’
