Relief from the recent sales tax increase could be on its way.
The Center for Small Government is expected to file several ballot initiatives today with the state Attorney General’s Office that would reduce the sales tax to as low as 2.5 percent.
“Big government, high taxes and out-of-control spending are driving people and the private sector out of the commonwealth,” said Carla Howell, president of the Libertarian group. “The sales tax hike is just one more blow.”
