$12M In New York City Paychecks Sat for 15 Years

The New York Post reports:
For 15 years, the checks from the municipal hospital agency most certainly weren't in the mail.

In an astonishing oversight, officials of the Health and Hospitals Corp. allowed 19,021 undistributed payroll checks worth $12,173,238 to gather dust in an office vault between December 1993 and March 2008.
Great moments in government run health care!
