Will Chicago Give Gay Businesses Minority Set -Aside Status?

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
Chicago’s first openly gay alderman today re-opened the volatile debate about whether City Hall should establish contract set-asides for businesses owned by lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgendered residents.
No word yet on whether registered Republicans can get minority set- aside status in Chicago contracting, since Republicans are a real minority in Chicago.
